Arizona retirement corridor
Moving Seniors to Arizona
Dry desert climate, no humidity, no state tax on Social Security, and some of the oldest established 55+ communities in the country. Arizona is the Sun Belt’s original retirement destination — and a fast-growing one for Midwest and California retirees.
Why seniors choose Arizona
Dry climate, no humidity
Arizona’s low humidity makes the heat feel different. Many seniors with arthritis, asthma, or COPD breathe easier in the dry desert air.
No SS tax, low income tax
Arizona doesn’t tax Social Security and has one of the lower flat state income tax rates in the country.
Original 55+ communities
Sun City (built in 1960) was the first major 55+ community in the country. The infrastructure for senior living is decades-deep here.
Cost of living
Property taxes, home insurance, and grocery costs are noticeably lower than California or the Northeast.
Strong healthcare
Mayo Clinic Phoenix, Banner Health network, Honor Health, and Tucson Medical Center provide top-tier care across the state.
Outdoor & active lifestyle
Hiking, golf, pickleball, biking — year-round. Camelback, Pinnacle Peak, Saguaro National Park within an hour of metro Phoenix.

Arizona move questions
What about Arizona’s summer heat?
June–August daytime highs routinely exceed 110°F. We move early-morning (5–10 AM) or late-evening to protect crew, household goods, and you. Air-conditioned trucks for sensitive items.
Do you handle Sun City paperwork?
Yes — both Sun City and Sun City West require new-resident registration. We submit paperwork in advance and bring all required documentation on move day.
Can you coordinate with a California sale-and-move-out?
Yes — we run regular California → Arizona corridors. Pickup in CA, delivery in AZ, storage in between if there’s a closing gap.
What about Midwest → Arizona in winter?
Winter is actually the best time. Northern roads are clearer, Arizona temperatures are perfect, and snowbird season (Nov–April) is high demand.
How far in advance should I book?
4–6 weeks. October–December (peak snowbird arrival) books up earliest.
