Verified credentials
Yes — A Plus Moving & Storage is fully licensed, insured, and BBB-accredited
Smart question to ask. The moving industry has a real fraud problem, so verifying a mover before you hand over your belongings matters. Here’s how to check us — and how to check anyone else.
Our verified credentials

Federal authority to operate as an interstate moving carrier, issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
MC 00026730

BBB Accredited · A+ Rating
Better Business Bureau accreditation requires standards adherence and complaint resolution. We’ve held A+ since accreditation.
Consumer Affairs 5.0
Verified third-party review hub for the moving industry. Our 5.0 rating across hundreds of moves is independently audited.
Cargo & liability insurance
FMCSA-required minimums plus higher carried limits. Certificates available on request, COIs issued for HOAs and condos at no charge.
No subcontracting

Verify us yourself in 3 minutes
Don’t take our word for it. Public, free verification at FMCSA, BBB, and Consumer Affairs:
- FMCSA SAFER: Visit safer.fmcsa.dot.gov — search USDOT 3006268. You’ll see our authority status, insurance on file, and safety record.
- BBB.org: Search “A Plus Moving and Storage” — you’ll find our profile, accreditation status, rating, and complaint history.
- Consumer Affairs: Search for us by name — verified reviews, ratings across categories.
- Movers.com / Moving.com: Both list FMCSA-licensed carriers. Cross-check our credentials there.
If a mover’s name doesn’t come up in FMCSA SAFER, walk away. They’re either unlicensed or operating under a broker arrangement that puts your goods at risk.
Moving industry red flags (watch for these in any mover)
- Cash deposit required. Major red flag. Legitimate movers don’t need cash up front.
- No USDOT number. Required by federal law for interstate moves. No exceptions.
- Quote without seeing your stuff. A virtual walkthrough or video-survey quote is required for a binding quote. “Phone quotes only” is a scam pattern.
- Unmarked trucks. Legitimate carriers have USDOT numbers on the vehicle.
- Holding goods hostage. Movers demanding more money than quoted before unloading is illegal. Report immediately to FMCSA.
- “Free move” promotions. Nobody moves a household for free. If it sounds too good to be true, it’s a broker that’ll resell your job.
- No physical address. A real moving company has a physical office and warehouse, not just a phone number.

Common questions about legitimacy
How long has A Plus Moving been in business?
Our authority dates back over a decade in the FMCSA register. Specific operating history is published on our SAFER profile.
Are you a broker or a carrier?
Carrier. We own our trucks, employ our crews, and complete the move ourselves. Brokers resell your job to whoever’s available — we don’t do that.
What is your DOT safety record?
Public on FMCSA SAFER. Search USDOT 3006268 to see our crash, inspection, and out-of-service rates.
Do you have complaints on file?
Every long-running mover has some complaints — what matters is the resolution rate. Our BBB record shows resolved complaints at 100% with timely responses.
How do I report a problem during my move?
Call us first. If we can’t resolve it, the FMCSA accepts complaints at 1-888-368-7238 or fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move.
