What snowbirds need from a mover

Snowbird moves aren’t one-time relocations — they’re a yearly rhythm. The northern home stays mostly furnished. The southern home gets the wardrobe, medications, and seasonal essentials. The mover has to think about both ends of the year, not just the trip down.

Annual booking

Lock in both the fall trip south and the spring trip north a year in advance. Locked-in pricing, locked-in dates — no scrambling.

Storage at both ends

Climate-controlled storage in both the Northeast and Florida means seasonal items wait for you in the right place, not in a hot truck.

Flexible dates

Most snowbirds head south in October–November and back north in April–May. We protect those date windows for our annual snowbird clients.

Vehicle transport

Many snowbirds ship their car with the household goods. We coordinate enclosed or open auto transport on the same corridor.

Medical equipment care

Oxygen concentrators, CPAPs, walkers, and other equipment travel in a padded, prioritized load — unloaded first at the new home.

Family check-ins

Adult children kept in the loop with status updates at pickup, in transit, and at delivery. Designated contacts get the calls.

How a snowbird move works with A Plus

  1. Annual planning call

One conversation each year locks in your fall pickup and spring return. Binding quote covers both trips.

  2. Fall pickup (October–November)

We load the Northeast home, take what comes south, store what stays. Same crew the whole way.

  3. Delivery to Florida (or Arizona)

Unload at the southern home, set up beds, position furniture, unpack medical equipment first.

  4. Winter storage (Northeast side)

Seasonal items, off-season clothes, and anything not making the trip wait in climate-controlled storage at our NE facility.

  5. Spring return (April–May)

The reverse trip. Pickup south, deliver north, pull stored items out for the summer.

Snowbird moving questions

Do you charge separately for the fall and spring trips?

Yes, each trip is priced separately, but our annual snowbird package locks in a discounted rate for clients who book both directions in advance.

Can I store some items in the Northeast while I’m down south?

Yes — climate-controlled storage at our Northeast facility. You only pay for the months you need it.

Will the same crew do both trips?

Whenever possible, yes — we assign your annual move to the same team so they know your home and your preferences.

Can you ship my car at the same time?

Yes — we coordinate auto transport on the same corridor. Open or enclosed trailer; you choose.

How far in advance should I book?

Book the fall trip by August. Book the spring trip by February. Earlier is better for snowbird season.
